Saturday 2nd May 2026 - 10am to 3pm at Charles Street Methodist Church.
140th Anniversary Year - Celebration and Exhibition.
Historical documents, photographs, memorabilia all on display. From inception in 1886 to the more recent past such as the gas explosion in Wright Street close to the church and continuing our community work into the future such as the regular 'Warm Space' sessions.
Two video presentations will be playing throughout the day - Historical events in and around Newark itself (includes the British Council film from the 1940's "A Market Town") and one concentrating of the history of the church. Audio recordings of special events will be available to anyone to listen.
And, as always, a warm welcome, refreshments, and space to sit and chat!
